Accommodation

There is a wide variety of accommodation to choose from depending on your budget and personal preference.

For those who like all the mod cons, international style hotels are the best type of accommodation to go for. There are good quality hotels on Sal, Santiago, S�o Vicente and Boa Vista. Rooms in most three-star hotels will have en-suite bathrooms, telephone, fan or air-conditioning, fridge and television.

On Sal, Boa Vista and Maio, there are many internationally owned villas and apartments available for rental for one week or longer. They are furnished to a good standard, and come complete with everything you need to be comfortable. Some of them are just a few hundred metres from the sea, but there are also ocean front apartments that quite literally sit on the beach with uninterrupted views of the ocean.

Bed and breakfast style accommodation is also readily available. It is known as Pensao and residencial in Cape Verde. It is basic, but clean and functional.

Or what about living like a local? On the islands that are well known for hiking, for example Santo Ant�o and Fogo, some residents are offering their homes to walkers. Again, basic accommodation, but what a great way to get an insight into the Cape Verdean way of life!
